1. “Fear is just your feelings asking for a hug. ~”

    — Danielle Sanchez-Witzel and Michael Pennie, My Name is Earl, “South of the Border Part Uno/Dos,” spoken by the character Joy Turner (“Saving Grace” )

  2. And in this corner….

  3. Dipping bread in the gravy - you know - just to see if it needs anything…

  4. For Vanilla: This is one of our turtles - we had two who pretty much looked exactly the same. We would take them outside for a little walkies when the weather was nice. One was named Herman and the other George…

  5. I know - I am effing annoying - but I’m moving the blog back

    to HERE.

Tumblr is NOT a good platform for text blogs - yesterday I spent far too much time trying to format a post. Eventually I gave up and wrote it on my blogger blog and then copied and pasted the post here (with all the html intact).

All of my posts here include a boat load of html coding - I do the blogger blog in the html mode but I don’t have to code every single thing like I have to do here.

Tumblr is great for photos - Holly’s photos never looked so good…but I’m not a photographer, I use words and tumblr ain’t a good word place. And the feed doesn’t get picked up very quickly…

I still hate blogger, make no mistake, but I am getting tired of having to code every little thing…

So if y’all don’t switch back to the blogger feed, I can understand - I appreciate you following me around but I can understand when it gets to be a real PITA…

  6. A column in today’s Washington Post Style section was titled “In pope’s frock, a lesson for the flock”. I laughed at that, thought the writer was being facetious. After all, say the word ‘frock” and most people think women’s dresses - that is now, but technically speaking…

Frock as defined by Merriam-Webster is:
1: an outer garment worn by monks and friars : habit
2: an outer garment worn chiefly by men:
       a : a long loose mantle
       b : a workman’s outer shirt;
c : a woolen jersey worn  especially by sailors
    3: a woman’s dress

See, it’s the third meaning that applies to women’s clothes. First and foremost it is used to describe men’s clothes. Oho! And if you think about it, if a priest can be ‘defrocked’ that must mean at some point he was frocked, right?

Of course if I type the word ‘frock’ one more time this will all sound sillier than it is - and using that word in connection with Catholic priests - well, we all know where that could go and it’s not pretty.

    That’s all I’ve got to say today….

  7. Back Later?

imageWent into the bedroom to make the bed this morning and I am greeted by…giving me the evil eye…

So I said “Okay - it’s a rainy dreary day, I won’t dispossess you - just yet. So they immediately…
